A ten minute ride between Lorimer and Essex.
A crowded train at 8 in the morning.
I see myself squeezing into the carriage, struggling to get a grip of something more solid than this guy's standing next to me shoulder.
I can smell he had onions for dinner last night.
I wonder what's his life's like.
I wonder if his job is interesting. I wonder if he likes it.
I wonder if he has a girlfriend. Or does he settle for a dog faithfully waiting for him to come back home from a hard day's work.
I shake my head. Skip a track, trying to put my noise canceling headphones a bit deeper to separate myself from the subway noise.
It's a short train ride. Ten minute walking distance as I leave the station. I'll shut down the alarm, if I'm the first one in.
I probably am though.
I probably am.
(What am I doing here, if I could've been home safe?
What are we doing anyway?)
